• s p consultants, following the successful promotion of the indigenously developed surface area analyser, model saa-2000, have now introduced an advanced version of bet surface area analyser, model saa-2002. the instrument is based on the principle of adsorption of nitrogen gas at liquid nitrogen temperature. saa-2002 enables the user to work with pure nitrogen and helium gases, thus making the operation very cost effective. this analyser is provided with ultra modern user-friendly menu driven windows based software (requiring only a serial port on the computer) for carrying out the sample analysis, data processing and data presentation. additionally, standalone manual operation is also possible, which guides the user throughout the analysis with status indication on an lcd. importance of vital parameters like surface area for the materials like precipitated silica, zinc oxide, carbon black, activated carbon, catalysts, adsorbents, powder drugs, etc, for ascertaining their end use is well understood. however, surface area alone does not provide adequate information for some of these materials, which additionally require knowledge of the pore structure of the material. bearing this requirement in mind, the company has developed saa-2002 to supplement this data with pore volume and pore size distribution. highly sophisticated method of measurement makes saa-2002 capable of covering wide range of values of surface area from 0.01 to 2500mē/gm and pore volume from 0.001 to 1.5ccs/gm along with pore size distribution between 15 to 2500 angstrom units.
