Electroplating is the process that is carried out by using an electric current for creating potential difference to deposit the metal. The process use an electrolyte and the solution contain metal compounds dissolved in a solution form. Wide ranges of addition agents and chemicals are added to the solution to deposit the metal with various properties like brightness, ductility etc. Every metal can be electroplated. They can be used for decoration or engineering or even both applications. The electroplating for non-precious metal electroplating includes metals like cadmium plating chemicals required cyanide, acid fluoborate, for cobalt plating acid chloride/sulphate, iron plating acid sulphate/chloride, nickel plating acid sulphate/chloride type, tin alkaline potassium/sodium, and zinc alkaline cyanide, acid chloride/flouborate. Precious metal electroplating for gold, indium, palladium, platinum, rhethenium, rhodium, and silver. Apart from this plating can be for non-conductors and passivations also include wide range chemicals.
