Vat dye is the ancient original natural dye that is used still in various fields. Vat dyes are applied to the substrates in a reduced and soluble form that are subsequently oxidized to the original insoluble pigment which are quinonic dyes and most common are anthraquinones and indigoids. In the leuco form this fabric dye is very effective in the textile industries. Indigo dye is a good blue dye that is used in the production of the blue jeans. Vat dye is usually very bright and holds up better when bleached than most other dyes that are colorfast and are inexpensive than some other dyes. Woolen, cotton as well as other fibers can be dyed by applying this clothes dye. Various textile industries apply this chemical dye for the effective result. Especially the fiber industries in dyeing different wool or jean apply these chemical compounds. The applications of these dyes are increasing and vat dye has promising future as per the rate of application in the fiber and textile industries.
