Barytes is used widely in pharmaceutical industries and is found throughout the world as an ore body in residual, veins type, as well as bedded form. It is a form of barium sulphate and is also called barite and barites.It has wide applications in ceramic, glass, chemicals, fillers and oil well drilling muds and is sold as aggregate or fine powder.
barytes is useful in oil-drilling applications because of its low abrasion properties. Its high specific gravity makes it perfect for a weighting agent. It is unreactive and non-toxic which makes it useful for many more applications.
