A surgical instrument is a specially designed tool or device for performing specific actions of carrying out desired effects during a surgery or operation, such as modifying biological tissue, or to provide access or viewing it. Surgical instrument used by the doctors is like the conventional surgical instrument but higher level of hygiene and sanity is maintained for performing different type of surgical operations. Along time, many different kinds of surgical instruments and tools have been invented, some of them of a more general character, others designed for a specific type of surgery. Surgical instruments include surgical forceps, diagnostic instruments, ear instruments, ophthalmic equipment, gall bladder instruments, gynecological instruments, intestinal instruments, kidney instruments, nasal instruments, needle holders, obstetrics instruments, oral & tonsil instruments, orthopedic instruments, probes & directors, retractors, saws & plaster instruments, scalpers & operating, knives, scissors, sinus & dressing forceps, splinter forceps, sterilizer instruments, suture instruments, thoracic & lung surgery, thumb dressing & tissue forceps, towel holding forceps, tracheotomy instruments. There are several classes of surgical instruments - graspers, especially tweezers and forceps; clamps and occluders for blood vessels and other organs; retractors, used to spread open skin, ribs and other tissue; distractors, positioners and stereotactic devices; mechanical cutters (scalpels, lancets, drill bits, rasps, trocars, etc.); dilators and specula, for access to narrow passages or incisions; suction tips and tubes, for removal of bodily fluids; irrigation and injection needles, tips and tubes, for introducing fluid; powered devices, such as drills, dermatomes; scopes and probes, including fiber optic endoscopes and tactile probes; carriers and appliers for optical, electronic and mechanical devices; ultrasound tissue disruptors, cryotomes and cutting laser guides; measurement devices, such as rulers and calipers. Forceps consist of two tines held together at one end with a spring device that holds the tines open. Forceps can be either tissue forceps or dressing forceps. Dressing forceps have smooth or smoothly serrated tips. Tissue forceps have teeth to grip tissue. Doctor knife and doctor blade are the surgical equipment generally made of stainless materials and are extremely sharp that can perform critical to ordinary surgeries. Starting from minor piles operation to critical and complex cardiac surgeries this surgical instrument is successfully used in the operation theatre by the doctors. Doctors also use variety of medical blade made of stainless metals to provide proper safety to the patients. Wide range of surgical operations requires a spectrum range of surgical equipment that include very small size of knives to bigger size of knives and blades. This surgical equipment proves cost effective to the doctors as well as reliable in all type of critical operations. In addition to this, this surgical instrument is repeatedly treated so that the surgical equipment can be reused and disposable surgical instruments are available.
