They consisting of one or more turns of wire and typically having two terminals. They usually connected into a circuit in order to raise the induction to a desired value. For railway applications inductors are used for power and auxiliary circuits of electric vehicles. Power inductors are used for switchmode power supply applications. High frequency inductors, like micro-inductors are ideal in hf circuitry for mobile phones, pagers and cordless equipment as well as wireless designs. Large inductors are used in the power supplies of electronic equipment of all types, including computers and their peripherals. Inductors are available in a variety of ranges differing in space availability, frequency range operation and power requirements. Bar-coil, surface mount (the very small in size and deserve a considered space, thin film (fabricated by several processing steps similar to fabrication), toroid type etc.
