Residential streetlights offer a wide range of efficient outdoor lighting system including incandescent, mercury vapor, and fluorescent and metal halide lighting fixtures. Incandescent lamps are used for residential and outdoor applications. They are often offered with low-pressure sodium lamp in a well shield fixture. Mercury vapor lamp have number of applications including outdoors. These lamps have a quartz tube filled with mercury gas under pressure. Fluorescent light have more efficient lighting effects, and have wider outdoor applications. High-pressure sodium lamp are ideal for street lighting, parking lot lighting and other outdoor applications. They are attached with a pole/post to illuminate a wider area. Colonial poles are manufactured in glass reinforced polymers for street lighting. Different types of globes are available to attach with poles, for street lighting, like wide refractor, narrow refractor, glass refractor globes etc.
