Fiber optic splicers utilize cinch nuts, alignment principles and no-fuss fiber terminations to quickly handle the requirements like replacing damaged fiber segments, combining two different fiber lengths and bulkhead or patch panel connections by joining two fiber lengths. They can be used with index-matching gel, for reducing fresnel reflection losses, or without gel for quick and easy connections. Fiber optic splicers are capable of splicing both single and multi-mode fibers. They are suitable for electrical contractors or for companies wishing to carry out fiber optic repairs or lan extension work. Micro fusion splicers are used for restoration of single-mode fibers for fusing multi-mode fibers in all multi-mode applications. Some splicers splice up 4 fibers simultaneously and can handle both ribbon or bundle fiber configurations. Some come with specific configurations and used for field and laboratory applications.
