A public address system is an electronic amplification system used as a communication system in public areas for large areas where it is impossible to speak manually. It is an amplification setup with amplifier and loudspeaker, used in number of events like in live games, or other public address, in elections by leaders to gatherings and audience. The public address system will be driven from a mixer at which the engineer will put together the incoming microphone and instruments. The configuration of such a system depends on its intended application. The public address system typically has microphones, an amplifier, loudspeakers, and controls to mix the signals coming from the various microphones or other input sources such as phonograph turntables or tape recorders. Portable public address sound systems are designed for auctioneering, marching band rehearsal and out-door public safety applications.
