Jointing is the woodworking process of making the faces and edges of a board square and flat. Jointing can be done with either machinery or hand tools. The jointing attachment must be properly tensioned. Smaller joints are mostly preferred. They provide excellent sealing strength and are suitable to seal off water, air, alkalies, ammonia, saline solutions etc. There are different types of jointing machine available in the market like columnar jointing, edge jointing, finger jointing, mortar jointing, pitch jointing, loose jointing and many more for various different purposes.
