Mist eliminator is the air pollution control equipment that is useful for removing corrosive mist from exhaust air stream when large entrained droplets are present. This cleaning equipment is based around a sinusoidal wave shape, to which a hook section is attached to enhance its performance. This oil mist eliminator is also known for its use in horizontal as also vertical gas flows and in the pulp and paper industry. The oil mist eliminator is better known as vane type systems in which, the specially designed vanes form small parallel channels with right angle gas deflection paths when assembled together into eliminator modules. The sharp changes in direction enforced on the gas stream in such a channel produce "inertial forces" that effect the entrained droplets. The number of manufacturers in this respect has been increasing to balance the ever-increasing demands of the customers. The need of these mist eliminator is felt not only to optimize chemical and petrochemical processes by elimination of undesirable liquids, but also to prevent pollution of condensates after evaporator stations.
