Valves

In anatomy, valves are membranous structure in a hollow organ or passage, as in an artery or vein, that folds or closes to prevent the return flow of the body fluid passing through it. Heart valves with half-moon-shaped cusps; prevents blood from flowing back into the heart. Either of two heart valves, one located at the opening of the aorta and the other at the opening of the pulmonary artery, each consisting of three crescent-shaped cusps and serving to prevent blood from flowing back into the ventricles.

Valves are used for many industrial applications like for closing or modifying the passage through a pipe, preventing the process flow from reversing, for corrosion resistance, for chemical handling and for many more such applications. They are offered in various price ranges in the market, which makes it comfortable for every pocket.

There are different types of valves available in the market like control valves, check valves, relief valves or pressure relief valves, safety valves, ball valves, needle valves, and many other miscellaneous valves suiting different industrial purposes. They are available in different sizes, shapes, and features and with variety of functions. These valves are used in most of the industrial sectors and can be made as per customer's requirement and need.

Ball valves are used for regulating the flow of fluids by a movable ball, which fits in a spherical seat. Bll valves open by turning a handle attached to a ball inside the valve. Ball valves are excellent choice for shutoff applications.

Safety valves or pressure relief valves are used in a pressure container, as in a steam boiler, that automatically opens when pressure reaches a dangerous level. Safety valves are attached to a boiler or other vessel for automatically relieving the pressure of steam before it becomes great enough to cause bursting. Pressure relief valves open automatically when the pressure reaches a dangerous level.

Check valves automatically limit the flow in a piping system to a single direction. Check valves are two-port valves, meaning they have two openings in the body, one for fluid to enter and the other for fluid to leave.

control valves regulates the flow or pressure of a fluid. Control valves normally respond to signals generated by independent devices such as flow meters or temperature gauges. Control valves are normally fitted with actuators and positioners.

Needle valves have a slender point fitting into a conical seat, used to regulate accurately the flow of a liquid or gas. Needle valves are usually used in flow metering applications, especially when a constant, calibrated, low flow rate must be maintained for some time.
