Solenoid valves serve an automation or safety device, always useful in industrial process operating with fluids such as liquid, steam or gas. A solenoid valve has two main parts - the solenoid and the valve. The solenoid converts electrical energy into mechanical energy which, in turn, opens or closes the valve mechanically. Special purpose solenoid valves are an electromechanical valve for use with liquid or gas controlled by running or stopping an electrical current through a solenoid, which is a coil of wire, thus changing the state of the valve. The operation of a solenoid valve is similar to that of a light switch, but typically controls the flow of air or water, whereas a light switch typically controls the flow of electricity. Solenoid valves may have two or more ports: in the case of a two-port solenoid valve the flow is switched on or off; in the case of a three-port valve, the outflow is switched between the two outlet ports. Multiple solenoid valves can be placed together on a manifold. Solenoid valves may use metal seals or rubber seals, and may also have electrical interfaces to allow for easy control. A spring may be used to hold the valve opened or closed while the valve is not activated. The standard components of solenoid valves are: valve body, plunger seal, o-rings, armature guide tube, plunger, spring, shading ring, stopper, flange, bonnet, coil, flat seal, cable plug and locknut. In some lpg solenoid valves the solenoid provides the full power for the operation of the main valve while there is a certain type where the solenoid, using very little power, controls a secondary pilot valve and it is the pressure of the fluid itself which provides the power for the actuation of the main valve. These types of latching solenoid valves are commonly used in washing machines, gardening and similar uses. Solenoid valves are also used in industry to control the flow of all sorts of fluids. High flow solenoid valves are ideal for commercial cookers and could be used with any kind of gas-fired heater and incubators and poultry brooders. Refrigeration solenoid valves are useful for commercial or industrial refrigeration systems. Fuel solenoid valves are used for automation, security of combustion equipment for boilers, furnaces etc. And also for the oil and petrochemical industries. Manual reset solenoid valves are used in shut-off security systems for temperature limit, pressure, lack of flame, level, etc., also used in the oil industry and combustion. The wide application of solenoid valves include oxyacetylene welding equipment, fire-extinguisher systems, packing machines, water treatment systems, pneumatic expellers, nickel-plating process, galvanization, coffee machine, air heating systems, laboratory or industrial cryogenic systems etc. These valves are fabricated with an electromagnetic package. They often made from neoprene, nitrile, epdm, polyurethane, viton and teflon lamination film. Available in pressure ranges from vacuum to a maximum of 0.1 to 100 bar and temperature ranges from -200ºc to 180ºc or higher temperature.
