• The final and most important step in process of refining is the physical distillation/ deodorisation to produce an odorless and tasteless product with negligible free fatty acid content, light color and higher stability against oxidation. High ffa oils such on palm oils etc. Can be directly refined without use of expensive chemicals and without generation of effluents. The process is very cost effective where the oil is first pretreated with phosphoric acid in a specially designed mixer. After adequate retention the oil is fed to the bleaching section when colour bodies are removed. The bleached oil in then fed into the deacidification-deodorizing section. The free fatty acids are stripped completely and recovered as valuable by products. The deacidifed oil is then deodorized in the deodorizing trays. The process results in huge cost savings. This process is highly recommended for hard oils like palm oil. The systems have been designed to handle all type of oils & fats to produce highest quality cooking oils & fats. The whole system is very much in demand because of these following reasons. First is that it is simple in operation, the process control is accurately monitored through instrumentation, there is precise control of all parameters i.E. Temperature, flowrate, vacuum, residence time, even the lowest energy is cost due to most efficient heat recovery system - multi pass system on tube side as well as shell side ensures long contact time thus achieving more than 80% efficiency, the low temperature & high temperature deaeration ensures higher shelf life and most of all the specially designed on line oil seperator from fatty acid distillates ensures lowest neutral oil losses.
