The equipment is useful for inspecting total composite error, tooth to tooth error and backlash. The precision assembly has pinion and rack. The equipment is strapping and consists of ci base, vertical column for ascending shaft gears of 750-mm length and sliding table. The sliding table floats on leaf springs and the same is attached to a dial gauge. With the counter weight the vertical column has belt arrangement. The floating slide is fitted on a reciprocal bar having recision mechanism to enable the user to increase gradually the height of sliding table thereby increase the height of master gear and examine the components at different heights. The vernier scale is fitted on the base of the equipment for setting the center distance. The gear train mechanism is available for rotating the component gear and hence the gear under test eliminates manual error. While conducting the test, the master gear is mounted on floating slide, which carries the arbor for mounting the master gear. On the other side of the arbor the component gear is mounted. The master gear and component gear are meshed with reference to centre distance and then rolled by a hand wheel. With high quality motorised unit with the speed range of 3-15 rpm as an option the equipment is also available.
