• The latest product from prism electronics is cosmos combustible gas detector, model xp 311a, an intrinsically safe dual sensitivity range combustible gas detector with automatic sampling. It detects the presence and indicates the concentration of combustible gases and vapours. The oil industry safety directorate has made it compulsory to have at least two explosimeters per lpg plant. The main features of this model are two measurement ranges of 0-100 % and 0-10 % lel, additional meter scales of 0 to 1.8% and 0 to 1.8% by volume. A single multi-position switch turns the instrument on, checks battery voltage and selects the sensitivity range required. An integral extremely low power drain, micro-pump provides a continuous, steady sample flow to give accurate and repetitive measurements. Pushbutton meter illumination is provided for testing at night or in other poorly lit areas. Other features are compact and lightweight, accurate and dependable, long sensor life, easy to maintain, ruggedly constructed. A variety of probe accessories is available for use according to atmosphere to be tested. A set of 4 aa size batteries give up to 4 hours of continuous operation or 100 intermittent tests of 3 minutes duration each. The model xp-311a has an integral alarm circuit. The standard model is calibrated in % lel for lp gas (is-butane). The instrument is direct reading for the gas used calibration. Calibration for other specific gas is available on request..
