• Offered by hawk systems pressure reducing valves are meant for those places where the downstream pressure varies very slightly due a change in the upstream pressure. These pressure changes are fairly small that it is safe to assume that downstream pressure valves will stay the same even if the upstream pressure varies. This holds true even if you consider the fact that the downstream pressure varies even in "no-flow" conditions, ie, when there is no water being drawn through the valve and pipeline. These valves cater superior flow and downstream pressure with multiple simultaneous applications. Even when several users decide to draw water from a particular down lake line, all will be supplied with enough water flowing at an adequate pressure. For any pressure reducing valve to be able do so, it must have a very low pressure drop/head-loss characteristic. Head-loss is the slight drop in flow and pressure caused when the water flow across the valve. Pressure reducing valves have very low head due to a larger area inside the valve body a larger diameter diaphragm..
