• Ceramic coatings for pumps for effluents / boiler feed water/ chemical process is the latest innovative device from ramic k- tech coatings pvt ltd, an indo american venture. Pumps handling effluent, boiler feed water or chemical fluids face corrosion and erosion of pump wet end components like casing, shaft sleeve, plunger, cylinder liner, impeller, stuffing box, etc. These coatings offer corrosion resistance against numerous chemicals as the ceramic material is inert and erosion resistance against sand, silt, effluent or bone ash in the fluid as the ceramic is very hard. These coatings are non-sticking-there is no sticking of powder to the pump internal parts. The coating thickness is 50 to 100 microns and can be done selectively. They can be coated on the internal complex contours of casings. In case of components like plungers or shaft sleeves, it is possible to grind these coatings to provide precise dimensions and surface finish. These coatings are deposited as slurry on metallic substrates like cast iron, steel, stainless steel and aluminium. They are then in the ensuing period chemically treated to attain a hard, impervious and corrosion resistant layer of excellent bond strength. Solid ceramic pump components like shaft sleeves, which are prone to breakage by thermal shock, can be substituted by ceramic-coated metal..
