• To bring dignity to the mundane task of floor sweeping and collection/disposal of garbage successfully in one stroke. They developed a mechanical sweeping machine, model r-490, it sweeps dirt and dust including papers, cigarette butts, stones, bolts, nuts, leaves, cigarette packs and chips, etc. This the area covered is 5 times as compared to the area covered by a man with broom (a man with broom can cover 300 m2/hr, while this machine can cover 1500 m2/hr). The size and weight of the machine has been kept in mind while designing, as manoeuvrability is better. It stores the garbage in a hopper of 35-litre capacity, which can be easily removed and emptied later on, without using any tools. Its side brush flips the debris from the corners and edges to the front of the machine, to be picked by the rotating cyclindrical main brush. Contact of main brush to the floor can be adjusted depending on the undulations of the roads and pavements. The few moving/consumable parts in the machine, maintenance is easy, it is for longer life and rust free operation, corrosion and breakage resistant frp material is used for fabrication of bins and polyurethane powder coating is done on frame. The size and weight of the machine ensures good manoeuvrability and operation by a single person. .
