• A wide variety of flameproof motors are available by hindustan motor mfg.Co ranging from frame size 71 flp to 200l flp in 2, 4, 6, & 8 pole designs. The motors are suitable for continuous duty (s1) with ambient temperature of 45 degree celsius & site altitudes of upto 1000 meters above mean sea level. The flameproof enclosure consists of sturdy cast iron parts that are mechanically and very liberally designed. The cast iron enclosure of the motors is built to withstand any internal explosion. The gaps of the joints and where the shaft passes through the frame are so dimensioned as to prevent transmission of igniting flame to the surrounding atmosphere. The motors are so designed that the frame temperature of the gas-air mixture involved. All cast iron parts forming the flameproof enclosure are tested at 14 kg/cm2 (required 10 kg/cm2) hydraulic pressure. All the seats of joints are carefully machined to strict tolerances and rigidly inspe4cted to ensure that the permissible gaps are not exceeded. These are suitably used in various industrial sectors like coalmines, refineries, petro-chemical industries where flammable gases, vapours fumes and coal dust are natural atmospheric hazards.
