• Bromhexine hydrochloride is characterized as almost white crystalline powder and odourless in nature and is available in the market as per specifications of british pharmacoepia / european pharmacoepia. The chemical name of this particular drug is 2-amino-3,5-dibromobenzy (cyclohexyl) methylmmonium chloride. The solubility part of this drug is that it is practically insoluble in water; sparingly soluble in ethanol (96%) and in methanol while slightly soluble in chloroform.
