• Skyscan (belgium) presents a compact desktop x-ray system for nondestructive reconstruction of three dimensional object micro structure. It allows to obtain the transmission shadow images (normal radiology) and reconstruct any cross section or complete 3d micro structure with spatial resolution of 8 micrometer and magnification from 4 to 100 times. Field of view is 60 mm x 60 mm (object size 40 mm). The system is built around dual pentium ii 350 mhz with 384 mb ram, >8gb hard disk, 1.44 fdd, 3.5"pdd, 8 mb svga accelerator, cd rom read writer, serial parallel port, ethernet card, etc, with inkjet printer. Software offered includes 2dimage cross section or full 3d-construction pseudo coloured image, 2d/3d filtering, image correction, etc. Some of the applications include electronic components, composite materials, medicine, non destructive testing, geology application, diamond testing, and various r&d applications..
