Automatic spring end grinding machines comes in two sizes of wire dia from 0.3 to 3.0 mm (seg-3 model) and 3.0 to 12.00 mm (seg-12 model). Seg-3 is available in crush grinding cycle while seg-12 comes with either crush grinding cycle or down feed grinding cycle. In crush grinding the distance between the two grinding wheels is set to the needed spring length. After springs are loaded and fed between the grinding wheels, the down feed cycle starts. As the cycle proceeds, grinding pressure on the wheel rises which increases the current of the spindle motor till it reaches the present upper limit. The setting of the cycle is completed with the help of scale, dogs and electrical limit switches. .
