• A device for checking thickness of non-magnetic coating in magnetic metal surfaces is the latest attraction from top tech mech engineers.Its called a pencil type pull gauge /thickness gauge.
it works on the principle of magnetic pull system with indicator showing exact reading. One can measure thickness of powder coating, galvanizing, enamel, paint, insulation coating, anti corrosion coating, epoxy, etc, from 0 to 500 microns with a perfect accuracy of ±10%. It is a very handy instrument (length 165 mm), lightweight (weight 20 gm) and has easy operation. The operation process is as follows: touch the tail end of the instrument on coated surface; push the black knob down till the magnet of the instrument touches the surface; afterwards pull the knob up slowly with two fingers until the magnet contact breaks and the breaking sound is heard and the indicator arrow on knob will show the exact thickness of coating..
