• Elektromag dewatering screens are used for the recovery of solids from slurries and liquids. They are especially suitable for dewatering sand, salt and plastic granulate or for the extraction of suspended matter and contamination from washing water, eg, in starch and sugar factories. Units are available to recover up to 130 cubic metres per hour of solids and are also available with unbalanced or electromagnetic drives. Several easily exchangeable slotted screen panels developed of nickel chrome/ss are fixed in the bottom, rear and sides of the screen body. The greater portion of the waterr flows away instantly through the rear and side screen panels, whilst the solids are transferred forward to the discharge. Dewatering screens should normally be installed on an incline of about 5 to prevent the surface water from flowing to the discharge end of the screen. The minimum effective slot width for the screen panels is 0.16 mm. .
