• Sandvik coromant has been manufacturing coromill 790 shoulder cutter for high speed milling of alumiium. Already available with 22 mm inserts it provides extreme metal removal rates with very high competency. The 16 mm inserts now being introduced open new operations for the aluminium end mill. This smaller version of the cutter is primarily for machines with somewhat moderate spindle power, offering exceptional ramping ability. With this extension the coromill 790 is effectively used for roughing to finish ramping and helical interpolation. It generates deep straight shoulders with minimal mismatch. .
