• A new device for telephones that is said to cut telephone bills has been develpoed these locks-called 'smart locks'- enable users to have an individual changeable secret code to control the use of their telephone. The devices are connected with telephone wires and are kept away from the telephones. Users can lock and unlock local calls, 95 cell , std calls and isd calls selectively by dialling their user presonailsed secret code. Also 3- minute timers can be switched on to keep track of the duration of the calls. Its unique 20-numbers storing facility allows the user to dial only the numbers stored locking the phone to all the other numbers, normal operation can be resumed at any time on entering the code. The emergency numbers can be dialed even during off position. The device is compatible with all exchanges and telephone sets of any make. .
