• Bombay tools has introdused a new continuous thickness measurement system for flat films and sheets. Based on the principle of magnetic induction, the measuring system is free from material properties thus making measurement unaffected by humidity, density or colour of the material to be tested. Compared to air gauge, for instance, the sensor is also insensitive to vibrations in the surrounding field. The newly improved web based technology is completely network compatible, enabling the system to be joined to the intra/intranet for easy operation or monitoring of the system. Telediagnostic service features assure continuous access to the measuring system via data communication offering to use the superior diagnostic capabilities of experienced personnel. Thus service, repair and downtimes can be decreased to a minimum, which is of utmost importance for cost-intensive production processes. A further benefit of the new system design: only standard components are available for the measuring system. Thus repair and expendable parts are quickly available worldwide, ie, minimum service and delivery times. .
