Beedi a very common thing used by the people of india and now formerly known as cigarettes. The concept of beedi emerged in late 17th centaury and thus was recognized by the tobacco workers who use to fill the tobacco in the leaves and then use to smoke by consuming the tobacco. Beedi leaves are also known as tendu leaves which are prepared from the tobacco crop which is cured and after which the beedies are made or prepared. The tendu beedie leaves are prepared from highly purified tobacco and are also processed and then they are rolled by a beedie roller and then they are baked and very properly packed and sent. These beedie or tendu leaves are also used as wrappers.Beedie leaves today are still used in some parts of the country. As beedies are used so are the leaves. The important aspect of this leaf is that the tobacco which is wrapped in this leaf vanishes away after the use the residue does not remain. Beedies are still used in some parts of the countries in jharkhand, bihar, and chhattisgarh and are used especially in the winter season. Earlier the beedies were quite famous and were very popular but now cigarettes have captured the market and also the brand of the cigarettes. Beedies are traditional handmade cigarettes which make use of tendu leaves and not paper. As of today cigarettes have captures the market but at one point of time india was the largest producer of beedies.
Biddies are considered to be more lethal than cigarettes. Today beedies have created an issue. As beedies are very much harmful and injurious the plan of putting a ban of the manufacture of beedies has been implemented and thus people have reduced the use of beedies. As beedies are very much cheaper than cigarettes people from poor class make use of beedies as most of the people are illiterate.
